Trans Nzoia Women Leaders Community-Based Organization (TWLCBO) remains at the forefront of transformative advocacy. After successfully championing the development of the Trans Nzoia County Gender Policy, we have now embarked on a grassroots sensitization initiative with three key objectives:
Ensuring communities understand the policy as a catalyst for social transformation.
Strengthening public participation in governance processes.
Promoting accountability in budget allocations to reflect gender-responsive priorities.
Our civic education efforts, aligned with principles of good governance, aim to empower citizens with knowledge and tools to demand gender-inclusive policies and resources. This initiative commenced in Endebes (Chepchoina Ward) and has since expanded to Nabiswa Ward, with more engagements planned across the county. What stands out from our ongoing work is the eagerness of citizens to engage and hold leadership accountable. TWLCBO is committed to amplifying these voices, ensuring that gender equity is not just policy on paper but a lived reality across all sectors.
