Marking the End of 16 Days of Activism Against GBV 10th December 2024
Trans Nzoia Women Leaders Community-Based Organization (TWLCBO), in collaboration with other CSOs, led the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV in Trans Nzoia County under the theme "Speak Up. Act Now." The event was driven by increasing GBV and femicide cases, including the tragic killing of a male student, which mobilized men to join the campaign.
Memorandums were presented to the Police, Judiciary, County Government, and County Assembly, demanding stronger enforcement, faster justice, increased GBV funding, and gender-responsive laws.
The County Commissioner, who flagged off the march, called for the capacitation of gender desks to address rising cases.
The event demonstrated a collective resolve to address GBV, with commitments to immediate and sustained action.
